I discovered this list while reading Jack Weyland's "Brianna, My Brother, and the Blog." I read it and thought, I think every boy should read this! Guys are always wondering, "What is it girls want from us??" Well, this list certainly doesn't cover everything, but it sure is a good start. I can guarantee you that any of the things on this list would make the 3 of us love the guys that did it even more.
How to Be a True and Faithful Friend (to a Woman)
1. Never speak badly of her to anyone. If someone is critical of her, stand up for her.
2. When she needs someone to talk to, take time to listen. Do your best to show empathy.
3. Be true to the friendship you share even when you're mad at her, or when you feel that you've been shortchanged in some way or other, or even when you want to get even. When you're both tired, take care of her needs first instead of your own.
4. Act in such a way that she always feels safe in your presence.
5. When she's been hurt by something you've done, instead of defending your good intentions, start your apology by saying, "I'm sorry I..."
6. When she wants to talk, turn off the TV, log out of your laptop, quit playing video games, move what you were reading far away, don't look at your watch. Give her your complete attention. Look at her when she's speaking. Nod or go "okay" so she'll know you're listening.
7. Understand that she's not perfect but neither are you. Do your best to understand her point of view. Also, cherish her the way she is now.
8. Know when her birthday is and plan ahead of time what you're going to give her. Also know the names of her brothers and sisters. Know what her favorite color is, her favorite dessert, her favorite movie. Learn as much as you can about her by asking questions.
9. Send her flowers or a card once in a while- not for a special occaison but just to let her know that you're thinking of her.
10. If she loves concerts, go with her. If she likes to go to church, go with her. If she loves to go wind surfing, go with her. Let her teach you what she loves to do and, in turn, you teach her what you love.
I love these. This is definetly a good way to win your way into her heart. Again, all credits go to Jack Weyland for this list. I didn't make it up. I just thought it was something everyone should read :)
